Parting note from Bruce Staubitz, Committee Chairman.
Dear All,
My dad and I were involved in Scouting when I was a youth for 7yrs, obtaining Life Scout, OA, ASM, 3x50 mile hikes on the Appalachian Trail and 1 mile swim 3 years in a row. I even went to college for Forestry, but changed majors for a business background, but I knew those experiences would be part of my adult life.
For the past 11 years, I’ve been honored to have been involved in the Cub Scouts and Troop 159, and to have been involved and seen my son obtain his Eagle. They’re many more Eagles this year and with more potential candidates arriving yearly. I hope we provided some of the building blocks you'll need as you mature through life and are able to give back to your son and community, what we were able to provide to you.
I’ve met a lot of great people, traveled and experienced many things that I wouldn’t have ordinarily done without Scouting. I wouldn’t trade that in for anything and it’ll be missed, but I know I leave you with a sense of accomplishment and that you have a great number of leaders who want to help you and the Troop continue moving forward. We have one of the best Troops in NNJC, with a solid foundation!
I sincerely thank you, for the opportunity in working with all of you and will miss the friendship, campouts, summer camp, campfires, and so much more!
However, before I step down, I challenge every one of you to obtain the highest rank of Scouting-Eagle, be one of the 4%! Lastly, follow your dreams and strive to obtain your goals in life.
Good luck to all of you and thank you,
Bruce Staubitz
